The “Opioid Crisis” persists in the United States, with opioid-related deaths being the most common cause of death of young adults. Moreover, over 130 Americans die daily from opioid-related causes. The management of chronic pain is a common challenge for Orthopaedic Surgeons and Musculoskeletal specialists. Thoughtful pain management is needed to both effectively manage our patients’ pain while not exacerbating the Opioid Crisis. The expert faculty will provide evidenced-based pain management strategies for chronic pain and review the indications and evidence for medical cannabis, that can be readily employed by Orthopaedic Surgeons.
