You might think that only hospitals participate in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Registry Program. That couldn't be further from the truth. Joint arthroplasty is increasingly being performed in an outpatient setting. Tracking these procedures via the AAOS Registry Program will be invaluable for both ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) and the Registry Program itself. Incorporating ASC-based procedures will broaden the scope of the Registry data. From the ASC perspective, Registry participation will demonstrate a site's strong commitment to quality.
