Rotator cuff tears represent one of the most common conditions leading to shoulder pain and loss of function. Although conservative treatment and tendon to bone repair are successful for many individuals, a substantial number of patients present with a tear that cannot be repaired reliably. The relative indications of various surgical techniques for the management of functionally irreparable rotator cuff tears continues to be debated. This webinar will review the definition of functionally irreparable cuff tears and review the indications, techniques and outcomes of superior capsular reconstruction, lower trapezius transfer, and reverse shoulder arthroplasty.
