Total Hip Arthroplasty After Acetabular Fracture
Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is sometimes necessary in the management of acetabular fractures. After an acetabular fracture, THA typically is performed at one of four junctures: acutely, as part of initial management (usually in conjunction with columnar plating); in a delayed manner, after an initial period of nonsurgical management; semiacutely, after failure of fixation; or much later, after the development of posttraumatic arthritis.
