Management of Os Acromiale
Os acromiale results from a failure of osseous union at one of the four ossification centers of the acromion. These ossification centers are the basiacromion, meta-acromion, mesoacromion, and preacromion. Os acromiale is named after the anterior-most segment at the site of nonunion. Mesoacromion is the most common type of os acromiale.
