Open Posterior Approach for the Management of Posterior Shoulder Instability
Shoulder instability is the single most common shoulder disorder affecting young athletes, with an incidence higher than that of rotator cuff tears, arthritis, and fractures. However, the treatment for instability remains somewhat unclear in many patients, especially those with anterior instability combined with bone loss and those with posterior instability. Posterior instability, which occurs in less than 10% of patients, is problematic for the patient and can be difficult to treat.
