THA in Patients With Inflammatory Arthritis and Other Conditions Affecting Bone Quality
Inflammatory arthropathies often affect the hip joint and lead to symptomatic degenerative changes that result in the need for total hip arthroplasty (THA). The condition is frequently bilateral. In patients with inflammatory arthritis of the hip, reconstruction with THA is challenging with regard to surgical exposure, hip dislocation, acetabular preparation and bone grafting, and restoration of leg length and offset.
