Protrusio Acetabuli
Protrusio acetabuli is the medial migration of the acetabular floor into the true pelvis that was first described in a pathologic specimen in 1824. The overall prevalence of the condition is difficult to estimate, but it is much more common in females than males. Causes of secondary protrusio acetabuli include Marfan syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, osteogenesis imperfecta, neurofibromatosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
