One-andTwo-Stage Revision of Infected Total Shoulder Arthroplasty
Infection is one of the most common complications following shoulder arthroplasty. The incidence is less than 2% in primary anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty patients and slightly more than 2% in primary reverse total shoulder arthroplasty patients. The infection rate increases to 2.8% in anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty patients and 4.7% in reverse total shoulder arthroplasty patients when the patient has had a previous orthopaedic procedure performed on the same shoulder.
