Basic Elbow Arthroscopy
The indication for elbow arthroscopy continue to expand with increased understanding of elbow pathology, surgeons’ increased comfort with arthroscopy of the elbow, and improved instrumentation and setup. Current indications for elbow arthroscopy include rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, hemophilic arthritis, septic elbow arthritis, select fractures and instabilities, osteochondral defects, loose body extraction, contracture release, tennis elbow, and diagnosis. This chapter reviews the indications for and contraindications to elbow arthroscopy, and details safe and effective methods for performing elbow arthroscopy.
