Webinar: Rotator Cuff Repair Biologic Augmentation: Options to Improve Healing in 2023
Live Date:
June 28, 2023
7:15 PM CST
A significant number of rotator cuff repairs do not heal. Clinical outcomes are improved with healed versus non-healed repairs. A variety of augmentation strategies exist to improve cuff repair healing including injectable biologics (bone marrow aspirate concentrate, platelet rich plasma, other) and augmentation with onlay or interpositional patches: human autograft and allograft tissue, xenograft, and synthetics. In this webinar, we will review the most common and currently available strategies to augment a complete rotator cuff repair to improve healing including indications, surgical techniques, and reimbursement strategies.
Learning Objectives
- Describe the problem of rotator cuff repair non-healing. Describe the currently commercially available cuff repair biologic augmentation options and how to bill and code for them. Understand the evidence and technique for biologic injections (PRP, BMAC, other) and technique in cuff repair augmentation. Understand the evidence and technique for human tissue use (allograft and autograft) in cuff repair augmentation. Understand the evidence and techniques for xenograft patches in cuff repair augmentation. Understand the evidence and techniques for synthetic only and interpositional patches in cuff repair augmentation.
